The Internal Investigations Branch (IIB),
formed in 1997, investigates allegations of special incidents in
juvenile facilities operated by the Department of Juvenile Justice.
As part of its mission to create and safe and secure environment for
youth, this includes investigating allegations of harm or threats to
harm juvenile residents by facility staff at juvenile treatment
centers, youth development centers, group homes or other DJJ
operated detention facilities. .
