Publishing Water Quality Results
On the World Wide Web


What you need

  1. Workstations with the following applications:
       -Netscape 1.3 or better        
       -Graphics Converter (L-View, Photoshop, Graphics Workshop for Windows)
       -Simple Text Editor (Windows Notepad, Mac Teachtext)

  2. Formatted floppy disk or hard drive directory to store files.

  3. The following files;
       -Any images or graphics you want to publish in JPG or GIF format.
       -Electronic text (in ascii format) you want to publish.
  4. Background information we will provide:
       1. Hypertext Markup Language "Tag" list (Web page formatting codes)
       2. Web publishing do's and don'ts.
  5. Web Page Templates and step by step instructions for the following actions:

       1. Creating a basic Web Page. (Demonstration)
       2. Add a link to another web page.
       3. Ad a graphic image to your web page.
       4. Transmit to the server (Demonstrated).
       5. Promote your pages to the world.
