Content Providers
These are the program managers or cabinet staff that control the information
to be published on the web. This can include any program that produces public
notices, reports, or other materials distributed outside the organization. Since
they routinely create, update and change the information, they should be identified
and incorporated into the process.
Content Provider's Responsibilities
- Identifies existing documents in electronic format
- Collects and organizes electronic copies (WP51) for the developer
- Notifies developers and system administrators of updates or changes in content
- If changes are routine enough, creates HTML documents directly for posting
- Receives public inquiries and comments about content of documents.
Content Provider's Resources
- Control over content and file updates for a particular program.
- Support from a developer, or the ability to become a developer.
- Access to a web browser.
- Access to an E-mail address for responding to public inquiries.
