Workshop Exercises

In cooperation with Kentucky Department of Education's Educational Technology group and the Partnership for Reform in Science and Mathematics we would like to offer the following sessions at the Technology Retreat April 26-27

Suggested Retreat Sessions

  1. Field Data Collection and stream monitoring (Friday AM)
    Participants conduct water quality tests and record results
    (2hrs)
  2. Water On The Web (basic)
    Using Netscape to find information about water quality topics.
    (also covers basic browser use and management)
    (15 minute demo, 15 minute workstation exercise)
  3. Publishing Your Data on the Web (Advanced)
    Using the World Wide Web to publish your results. Includes
    creating graphics files, editing HTML (Hyper-Text Mark Up Language)
    and linking files to the web.
    (20 minute demo with 2 hr workstation exercises) Limit 20 people at a time)
  4. National Data Communications Project On the same day we are running our stream samples in Northern Kentucky, We have arranged for schools in Kentucky and elsewhere to conduct similar tests and send them to us via E-mail. In my spare time during the retreat, I will be monitoring this activity, collecting the data reports, and reposting them on the web for the participants.
